Australia, get ready for round two with Me First and the Gimme Gimmes! After last year’s whirlwind tour, punk rock’s ultimate cover band is back with a brand-new album, ¡Blow It…At Madison’s Quinceañera!, and they’re set to hit the road again!
If you give Quinceañera a spin, you’ll instantly feel the vibe of Madison’s party. As Spike puts it, "I want this album to reflect what a Gimme Gimmes live show is like. The only difference? We’d actually have a crowd that wants to see us. What went down at this show, in my opinion, is even better than getting endless applause from a big audience. Golf-claps from five people? That’s how I prefer a live record to sound."
They’re definitely hoping for more than just a few polite claps—but seriously, no half-hearted cheers while you’re ordering another drink at the bar.
Joining the Gimmes on this tour are the legendary Dwarves, who’ve been dishing out their unique mix of punk, garage, thrash, and experimental music for a staggering 40 years—if you can believe it!
The 2024 Australian tour kicks off on Wednesday, October 30, at The Tivoli in Brisbane. The tour continues with shows on Friday, November 1, at Miami Marketta on the Gold Coast; Saturday, November 2, at Bar On The Hill in Newcastle; and Sunday, November 3, at The Baso in Canberra. The following week, the tour hits Enmore in Sydney on Wednesday, November 6; Torquay Hotel in Torquay on Friday, November 8; Forum in Melbourne on Saturday, November 9; and The Gov in Adelaide on Sunday, November 10. The final stop will be on Wednesday, November 13, at The Astor Theatre in Perth.
